Literally started reading the novel a while ago, but been too busy to continue it, I will get back to it though lol I loved this demo so much I streamed it on Twitch and played it 3-4 times literally just fangirling lol Just like I previous comment down below, if you need any help with Voice Acting, I volunteer as Tribute with 2 other friends <3 I can't wait for this to come out! I will literally Pre-Order, get all DLCs anything and everything! I also got 3 more people to check it out too xD all the love!
I tried playing on my steam deck in desktop mode since there doesn't seem to be any controller support. Using Proton Experimental I was able to launch the game and play, but I only got around 10-15 FPS at best. Very cool idea and I wish I could play it at a more consistent level of performance. If you ever feel like expanding on it I hope you add an options menu to allow lower end users to tweak the settings and also controller support. My only other minor nitpicks is mostly what everyone else is saying, change the blaster color, take out zombie Vader and add some more variety. Otherwise this's a great idea and a cool project!
I thoroughly enjoyed this! The concept and execution were both fantastic. I would certainly engage in a full-fledged story game with a similar premise...
Change the character skin to a TIE Pilot. It's the black suited troopers you see get into TIE fighters most of the time.
Vader should not be a thing here unless he's here to exterminate the rest of the deathtroopers. There is a comic where someone actually tried to infect him with a mind control virus and it failed miserably. The likelihood of him being infected by this is minimal. It would be better if it was "Survive until reinforcements arrive."
With that being said, I think at least three other troopers should accompany ours. That being the case, you should change the ship from a TIE Interceptor to a Sentinel Class Landing Craft that was widely used by the Empire. Have a black suited pilot trooper in the front, piloting the ship to the lower hangar bay. You and three other troopers can be in the back, waiting to get off.
I have game footage showing plenty of bugs and stuff that need to be fixed if you have some way for me to submit it to you.
Blaster bolts should be red, not reddish-pink.
Bolts do not come directly from the blaster, this makes killing deathtroopers that are adjacent to you impossible unless you gain distance.
Blaster bolts do not go to where the crosshair is located. You have to shoot at an angle.
I can also help you with the English in the dialogue if you wish.
You know that's actually perfect, I think you guys would be a better option, 3 is better than 1 that way can the game dev can get more voices for extra characters when the game is finished development

I downloaded, opened with Winrar, clicked Deathtroopers Directors Cut, clicked WindowsNoEditor and then the .exe file, hope this works for others, good game, lots of potential here.
I created a new folder on the desktop. Then I opened with 7-zip. I then picked the file and hit the blue plus sign and saved it into the desktop folder I created. It worked and was pretty awesome.
great demo had fun with it but I have suggestions tho for the future product
1 it would be nice to use actual Voice actors instead of AI for the stormtrooper voices. Whether its you or other devs I feel that it gives a more authentic feel
2. have ammunition/ side arm and chances to get other weaponns. I feel this would make the game a bit more challenging.
3. less lights, batteries for the flashlight on the rifle and expanding the star destroyer. Such as adding a med bay, hangar lab, the bridge etc. This would make the game 10x scarier and add that extra kick on the horror element
4. Theres a old death troopers trailer on youtube that was a fan made, if possible I feel that that would be a great cinematic intro to the game.
5. For the game intro you should use a imperial landing craft rather than the cutsom starship just for lore accuracy and also take out the zombie vader just for lore purposed
6. Making the game have a escape route and Co Op with others.
To me this has great potential to be one of the greatest star wars fan projects aside from the Battlefront 3 one theyre trying to revive wish I knew more about coding and game design otherwise id volunteer
Pretty good demo. There was really not much challenge though. There is one spot on the map that you can just sit and most of the zombies just can't get to you. The pathfinding needs some work as well because they get caught on walls and doors and can't get to me at all. Would love a pause screen and a manual way to cool off my gun. The bullets from my gun also look like they do not go where I am pointing and I can't shoot without aiming down sights which is weird.
oh damn i love it.... need to fix some hitbox issues but we are a stormtrooper after all... need to implement waves and supplies (turrets, grenades, following npcs and skills ) and then it will be a AAA :D love your work dude
EDIT : Need to shoot without aiming that will be a disaster for a stormtrooper but... could be handy and pass cinematic if we want to play it again !! amazing work dude.
This demo is really really good. I like it a lot the graphics are absolutely brilliant. There are a few issues with but nothing to major. Such as sometimes the stormtroopers would get stuck in doors and not come through making the game really easy, and sometimes your blaster shots would go right through stormtroopers. But nonetheless it was brilliant for a demo and I would love to see a full game!!!
This demo is REALLY dope and I especially loved the cinematics and concept of it all. The game got down to the 'shoot-em-up' style, and I'm all for it. I really liked how the inaccuracy of the blaster are as well. However, there were some minor things such as: Lasers going through mobs (no dmg), mobs getting stuck on doors, and just how repetitive it is (since the mobs only spawn at 2 directions).
It'd be cool if there was a type of loot system with health, speed/ armor boosters (aka drugs), and a variety of weapons we can use/ switch to. Sorta like the systems used in The Last of Us, RE, or Dead Space in making the game more immersive and fun. Even changing the speeds of the enemies and them sprinting at us could've been a nice detail.
Overall, a dope concept and hoping this project continues strong! Really appreciated

i enjoyed the demo a lot, there was 100% that sense of dread, but from a objective standpoint of what makes a horror game ''dreadful'' the demo slightly missed the mark, and im aware that its a demo and will likely fix demo issues later, but i'll judge it based on what i played, not what *could* be later.
general story/writing: loosely based on some star wars lore (so not really ''original''), its hard to miss here, maybe get some better writing done and it will be perfect, but currently a 7/10
voice-overs/sound effects: im mildly annoyed that the protagonist has like a computer generated voice, i cant make sense of why that IS when you clearly have the assets for a lot of star wars sounds/the sounds star wars used, and more importantly, the wheezing/gasping of darth vader, just getting an actual storm trooper ''speaking through helmet'' voice would do wonders for the intro screen, especially when you have to re-watch it every time you start up a new game, currently a 6/10
general gameplay: ok so it is INCREDIBLY easy to cheese the game as is, like zero challenge whatsoever, once you get to the very long corridor with the 1 singular red-lit door at the end, you can basically camp it out with no fear of dying, the will at MOST come 2 ouf of that door, but most of the time only 1, and the other spawn point is super far away, so you wont really ever be ganged up on, no sense of dread (other than having no HP/COOLDOWN bar, more on that in a bit), i cheesed normal easily once i figured out this strat, and i dont know if Nightmare mode is bugged, but it only seems like the spawn rate of monsters has been slightly buffed, which as i said before with the cheese spot ''the will at MOST come 2 ouf of that door, but most of the time only 1'' means nightmare mode is just the same cheese strat as normal mode, zero challenge whatsoever, 4/10
as it stands right now, i dont think id give it more than a 6 or 7 out of 10, not that its a bad game and again, its a DEMO, but im judging based on what i played.
things to fix/add
HP bar for health
COOLDOWN bar so you can see when weapon needs to reload + a way to manually reload
nightmare mode should have either a) increased spawn rates b) stronger enemies/new enemy variations c) faster enemies or a moderate mixture of both
nightmare mode should also include darth vader as a final boss, he would be very good here because canonically, he is slow and takes big swings, so you have to time shooting and dodging/running past, this would immensely boost the playability of nightmare mode
better voice for protagonist
more spawn points for enemies (both in normal and nightmare)
fix some of the writing mistakes
bigger area for nightmare mode
skip function for the intro when you have already seen it once
different weapons for the protagonist to use that follows lore (grenades for examples)
different enemy types
other: maybe co-op but not a pressing issue
if all of that is implemented in some way, shape or form (both slightly and heavily) i think we are looking at a 10/10 games
(note, the blaster rifle not hitting where its meant to is a genius ploy by the creator, truly canon to star wars lmaoooo)
The game was quite enjoyable, although it had its flaws. The blaster projectiles are landing at the wrong place which renders the crosshair kinda useless. On top of this there were a few glitches such as enemies getting stuck in doors, or not taking any damage.
Other than that everything else looked decent. I personally loved the gritty atmosphere and the soundtrack.
And I saw that this was a DEMO. Will there be an extended version of it? Because I'd love to see it. It would be great to see larger areas and have Zombie Vader as a boss.

Great sofar. Here are some suggestions:
I would switch the blaster shots to be blue or red, the pink feels odd.
The storm trooper player seems to talk to himself a bit and sounds wierd.
Add a menu for settings so my pc can run it better lol.
Maybe switch/edit the models because the stormtroops had some really odd creases in their helmets on my screen.
The camera needs some help lol.
It would make the game better if you made it so the player could shoot while not aiming (for when zombies are in your face).
I would add in some zombie non stormtrooper personel.
Maybe a crouch button?
Make the flashlight on the rifle toggleable.
Overall good and I look foward to seeing more.
