Here I thought the game had ACTUALLY improved due to all the coverage it's gotten recently.

Bolts are still miscolored.
Aiming is still dogshit.

AI pathfinding is still dogshit.

Stormtrooper should be a pilot if he's there on his own.

Wrong spacecraft for the trooper (Pilot)  to be flying.

Vader would NOT fall to this.

I love deathtroopers as much as the next guy, but I think this is simply the wrong dev for it.

If you are concerned about this not being canon, maybe a different franchise would be easier to be precious over when it's own owners don't give a shit about sticking to cannon.

(1 edit) (+1)(-1)

This has nothing to do with canon. Who tf thinks Vader would actually fall to this?
Also, that is a minor thing along with protag being a stormtrooper. It's very irritating, but whatever. My main concerns are literally everything else like aiming, ai pathfinding, etc.

I'm surprised that the storm trooper hasn't been swapped to a proper pilot, like it should be. And it should be a landing shuttle or TIE fighter if anything.

I loved this game so much

I loved it so much!

Very basic kind of game, filled with bugs and stolen assets. Id recommend reading the book of the same name (and Red Harvest by extension), or better, listen to the audiobook given the incredible atmosphere. At best, this game is a very loose adaptation of the novel, carrying only really the loose zombie concept and being set primarily on an ISD. Aside from that, nothing is the same.

good game but short ready for part III

it dosent work for me

Short Star Wars fan game by Stefano Cagnani, where you play as a stormtrooper tasked with investigating a seemingly abandoned Star Destroyer. However, it turns out to be full of zombies that you'll have to fight to survive. The concept and cutscenes are interesting, although the AI voice acting is a little off. The gameplay can be a bit janky and simplistic at times, but it's still a neat idea.

Quite an interesting experience! I didn't realize Star Wars and horror would work so well together but they do!

(+1)

I had a good time with this one. The concept (which is based off the book series of the same name) is super fascinating to me. Zombies and Star Wars is a crazy cool concept.

There were a couple bugs which you can see in the video (zombie clusters, gun perma-jamming, etc.) but overall I had fun mowing down zombie stormtroopers with my blaster. Will definitely be playing Chapter 2!

For being made by just you, this is pretty impressive! Although a number of things could definitely be improved, if you're interested in having some actual voice acting in this game I would absolutely LOVE to do voice work for this project (For FREE too!(because I love Star Wars))

(+2)(-1)

Yep. Just report it.

(+10)

serious you pay-walled this? idc but you should know that is copyright infringement. but fuck disney get your paper

(+9)

He always does this. He's done this for years where he just steals assets, steals IP, etc and then often times paywalls it.  Super illegal and super scummy. I wish websites would stop promoting his "work".

(1 edit) (+2)

wait what do you mean by a paywall? did they make it so you have to pay to play the rest of the game do you mean the whole "name your price" thing because the thing with name your price is that you can just NOT PAY its more so if you want so support them you know?  edit: OH I UNDERSTAND NOW YEAH THATS PRETTY DAMN SCUMMY

Um... Can you help? The error is that there is no file GlobalShaderCache-PCD3D_SM4.bin in the directory "/Deathtroopers Directors Cut/WindowsNoEditor/Engine". What to do? I understand that there is no file, but I just downloaded and unpacked the RAR archive into the Games folder. Help me please

I love Star Wars and zombie shooters. This game is good but very short and zombies are bugging.

What a great short game spin off this was to the star Wars franchise. Really enjoyed the cut scenes. Very well put together. Thank you so much for making this. 10/10.

not getting any blaster fire. Should i use a different EXE? also, can we skip the beginning cinematic?  way too long.

Let me start off by saying that I absolutely LOVE the concept of adapting the 'Death Troopers' novel by Joe Schreiber into a game. I think this idea has incredible potential and I'm absolutely looking forward to the future of this game, however, there are a few things I feel I should point out.

My biggest nitpick would be the size of the ESD in the beginning cinematic. Even the I-class ESD was over 1.6km (or 5200ft) in length, whereas the model in game seems to be a few hundred metres/feet at most.

The blaster fire being purple is also an interesting choice (?), as I get that it makes the game more unique, since the average trooper is equipped with a blaster that shoots green beams, but it's unrealistic in normal Star Wars canon/legends continuity.
If you were to keep that uniquely purple blaster fire, I'd recommend giving the main character a more unique model, as well. Special forces or something similar, perhaps. That would explain why he was alone and in quite a unique ship, too.

Otherwise I personally have a slight issue with the length of some of the cutscenes and the gameplay mechanics, as they're a bit stiff, but I absolutely understand that this game isn't finished yet, so I feel like pointing those out in detail would be unecessary.

For a demo, it's absolutely got me hooked, even though I don't quite know where you're going to take that Vader bit. Looking forward to more from you, it's looking promising so far!

(+2)

purple blasters do increased damage because they use a rare gas, they are in star wars, but are far FAR rarer than red, blue, or green blasters

(+1)

Indeed, I think they even show up in the Umbara-arc in The Clone Wars. Howeverm what I meant was, that it is unusual for a seemingly normal stormtrooper with an average E-11 to shoot purple bolts, when they usually shoot red bolts.

(+1)

Ah, sadly no option to invert mouselook, and audio is really much too loud to stream correctly in discord.

(+1)

Awesome game! The mechanics were very interesting! I really enjoyed that idea of zombie clone troopers.

(+1)

absolutely love the concept, looking forward to what comes next!
(+1)

It isn't perfect in terms of gameplay but it is very fun regardless, and having zombies while in a Star Destroyer just makes for such cool visuals. Also, absolutely brilliant having the aim be bad by default considering you play as a Stormtrooper XD Definitely will be playing the next game very soon, cheers!
